Bramley House is a residential building undergoing significant refurbishment to enhance its energy efficiency and aesthetic appeal. The project focuses on replacing the existing windows and doors with high-performance triple-glazed timber sash units, improving thermal insulation and contributing to the building’s sustainability. As a fully occupied complex, the works were carefully coordinated to minimise disruption to residents, while ensuring the preservation of the building’s historic charm and meeting the required energy performance standards for funding compliance.

A close-up, angled view of a white multi-paned sash window on a brick building's exterior balcony. A black window box filled with vibrant green and white spider plants sits on the white sill. The brickwork shows a distinct horizontal shadow line, with darker bricks above and brighter orange-red bricks below. A red door is visible further down the walkway.

The project

The installation of the windows and doors at Bramley House required a Trustmark & PAS2030 certified installer, with all work carried out in full compliance with PAS 2030 standards to secure the necessary funding. Given that the flats remained fully occupied throughout the project, TRC had to ensure that the replacement of the windows and doors was conducted with minimal disruption to residents. The windows and doors were specified to be triple-glazed, unless otherwise noted, with certain areas requiring double-glazed fire-rated glazing units. Additionally, the triple glazing was required to meet a minimum U-value rating of 0.7 W/(m2K) to ensure optimal energy efficiency.
