Bramley House is a residential building undergoing significant refurbishment to enhance its energy efficiency and aesthetic appeal. The project focuses on replacing the existing windows and doors with high-performance triple-glazed timber sash units, improving thermal insulation and contributing to the building’s sustainability. As a fully occupied complex, the works were carefully coordinated to minimise disruption to residents, while ensuring the preservation of the building’s historic charm and meeting the required energy performance standards for funding compliance.
The project
The installation of the windows and doors at Bramley House required a Trustmark & PAS2030 certified installer, with all work carried out in full compliance with PAS 2030 standards to secure the necessary funding. Given that the flats remained fully occupied throughout the project, TRC had to ensure that the replacement of the windows and doors was conducted with minimal disruption to residents. The windows and doors were specified to be triple-glazed, unless otherwise noted, with certain areas requiring double-glazed fire-rated glazing units. Additionally, the triple glazing was required to meet a minimum U-value rating of 0.7 W/(m2K) to ensure optimal energy efficiency.
TRC Contracts’ Triple Glazed Box Sash Windows
TRC Contracts provided bespoke triple-glazed box sash windows for the Bramley House project, offering exceptional thermal and energy performance. TRC’s triple-glazed sash windows are specifically designed to meet the highest standards of energy efficiency, achieving impressive U-values that ensure improved insulation and reduced heat loss. These high-performance windows contribute significantly to the building’s overall sustainability while maintaining the aesthetic appeal of traditional sash windows. By incorporating triple glazing, TRC Contracts delivered a solution that not only enhanced the building’s energy efficiency but also helped to meet the rigorous specifications set for the project, ensuring long-term comfort for residents and compliance with funding requirements.
Inside the Bramley House refurbishment
