Inward-opening aluminium-clad windows are designed for commercial and multi-storey buildings where internal access for cleaning and maintenance is required. Suitable for offices, hotels, mixed-use developments and high-density urban sites with limited external access.

Operation and Maintenance

The inward-opening sash allows safe cleaning and maintenance from inside the building, eliminates the need for external access equipment such as scaffolding or MEWPs, and supports reduced operational and lifecycle maintenance costs

Acoustic Performance

Acoustic insulation performance up to 45 dB (following the BS EN ISO 10140-2 : 2010), suitable for buildings exposed to traffic, transport infrastructure, or urban noise. Enhances internal comfort in commercial working and living environments.

Thermal Performance

Thermal transmittance (Uw) as low as 0.8 W/m²K, contributing to improved energy efficiency and reduced heating demand, and supporting compliance with current building regulations and sustainability targets.

OperationThe window is of a tilt-and-turn configuration, providing inward tilting for controlled ventilation and full inward opening for safe and convenient cleaning, emergency egress, and rapid ventilation
Timber SpeciesManufactured from selected engineered laminated pine or hardwood, sourced from sustainably managed forests and certified to FSC® or PEFC standards
Moisture Content12% +/- 2% on delivery
Glass & Glazing Drained and ventilated wet-glazed system. Windows are factory-fitted with sealed insulating glazing units, 24mm or 48mm thick, in double- or triple-glazed configurations. Glazing units are manufactured in accordance with EN 1279. Glass unit make-up is as follows (from external to internal):
Double glazing: 4mm float glass / 18mm argon-filled cavity / 4mm float glass with super low-emissivity (Low-E) coating.
Triple glazing: 4mm float glass / 18mm argon-filled cavity / 4mm float glass / 18mm argon-filled cavity / 4mm float glass with super low-emissivity (Low-E) coating.
Alternative glazing configurations, including insulated infill panels, are available on request up to a maximum overall unit thickness of 48mm
Glazing BarsApplied glazing bars are used to replicate the slim profiles of traditional glazing bars. Bars are fixed to both faces of the sealed glazing unit using high-performance double-sided glazing tape and finished with a clear silicone.
IronmongerySingle-handle tilt-and-turn operation incorporating a Siegenia multi-point hinged locking mechanism. Available with exposed or concealed hinges, and with locking or non-locking handle options
Cill Aluminium Extensions 50mm, 70mm, 110mm, 180m, 210mm
VentilationWindows may be fitted with an adjustable, draught-proof ventilator providing a specified equivalent area, available on request. Ventilators are discreetly integrated within the window frame.
Finish as DeliveredWindow supplied factory finished, externally and internally with Teknos Water-based micro porous opaque to specified RAL colour, or stained finish. Aqua prime 1410, Aqua mid-2901, Aqua top 2600.
External aluminium cladding finished in polyester powder coating to Qualicoat Class 1 as standard. Qualicoat Class 2 finish available on request
RestrictorsRestrictors which allow the opening of the sash to be restricted to 100mm is an option
FixingInstallation to be carried out using best building practices and in conjunction with recommendations of TRC windows
WarrantyA 10-year manufacturer’s guarantee is provided covering defects in materials and workmanship to frames, ironmongery, and sealed glazing units, subject to compliance with the manufacturer’s standard installation and maintenance requirements
Frame & SashWindow profiles measure 78mm × 78mm for double-glazed units and 92mm × 92mm for triple-glazed units. Frames are fabricated using traditional mortise-and-tenon joints, secured with adhesive and mechanical fixings to ensure structural integrity.
Glazing Beads Windows designed as internally beaded, permitting the installation and replacement of glazing units from the internal side. Beading design maintains the integrity of the frame, provide appropriate security against unauthorised removal, and allow safe and efficient maintenance or replacement of glass without disturbing the external façade.
Child Restrictors Windows can be fitted with optional restrictors to limit sash opening to 100mm, providing controlled ventilation while enhancing occupant safety, particularly in areas subject to regulatory or user safety requirements
