We use this brand of draughtproofing on our sash and casement windows for a few reasons. First and foremost it is comprehensively tested for air tightness and water permeability, achieving extremely good test results. We have found that Draft Fix is particularly suited to our restoration projects and the quality is far better than that of the competition. We have been using this system for over 15 years and have had very few customer service issues.
The Draftfix system typically uses a weather pile with a central fin fixed into a carrier channel which is rebated into the staff bead, parting bead, meeting rail, top rail and bottom rail which achieves an excellent seal.
See our NBS Specifications.
Draughtproofing isn’t just about keeping the cold out. Our expert sash window restoration specialists add insulation via hidden, rebated sealing strips in key places around the window, putting a stop to rattles too.
As a result, air leakage is reduced by up to 50%, and the sash opens and closes smoothly with minimum effort.
And with better insulation comes better thermal performance, as well as fewer occurrences of dirt, dust and rain ingress. That’s complete insulation from cold, leaks, and premature timber decay and damage.
